Life Science Consultant

We are currently seeking an experienced consultant, looking to rapidly grow professionally, work directly with our Life Science clients at a staff and decision-maker level, and complement our growing team.

Gens & Associates is a niche Life Sciences management and organization consultancy and the global leader for regulatory information management benchmarking.

We advise and work with our benchmark, Premier, and consulting clients on information management strategy, technology investments, business process optimization and organizational matters. Our clients are primarily in the United States and Europe with about 10% in Asia Pac (Japan and China).

Starting in the fall of 2019, we successfully introduced a Premier Membership with key industry and provider clients who utilize our benchmark data and subject matter experience to help improve their operational and organization performance.

Key Responsibilities

Benchmarking Analysis

  • Conduct benchmark data analysis (tier, geographic, product complexity, trending analysis), deliver reports and presentations containing valuable insights
  • Support our Premier clients on private benchmark debriefs and facilitate industry sessions
  • Participate and drive the design, development, and validation of new benchmark studies
  • Create and contribute to whitepapers, blogs, public presentations of benchmark studies
  • Potentially lead smaller supplemental studies

Client Consulting and Premier Membership

  • Conduct current state analysis of client system (process, technology, and organizational layers) and recommend performance improvements with associated implementation roadmaps
  • Support industry clients in building business requirements to support modernization initiatives (process and technology), RFP facilitation, and software provider decision-making
  • Advise software provider clients in helping them improve their standing in the marketplace by having better alignment with key technology and business trends, improvement on usability, and marketing messaging
  • Contribute content to our Executive Lounge that contains our private benchmark studies, whitepapers, position papers, and best practices for our Membership
  • Work directly with Premier Members to plan for their Performance Improvement Workshops and participate / facilitate these key sessions
  • There is also an opportunity to speak in key industry events sponsored by our members or other community forums (e.g. DIA)

Required Skills & Experience

This position requires working in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment with many global senior professionals with minimal oversight. A combination of the following experience and skills is important to be successful in our dynamic culture:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years Life Sciences consulting and /or benchmarking experience with a preference in the regulatory, quality R&D, or quality Manufacturing domains. We are looking for base knowledge covering the types of technologies and business processes that support these areas
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word) proficiency, analytic, and excellent oral and written communication skills are required
  • Solid survey design, analysis, and report creation (we use SurveyMonkey and process the results in Excel). Previous experience with SurveyMonkey or other survey tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills (survey analysis, client performance analysis, market analysis, and /or return on investment analysis)
  • Excellent client interaction skills (written and verbal communication, workshop facilitation, conducting interviews and focus group, and presenting in a compelling manner)
  • Ability to work with all levels of an organization (staff, managers, directors, vice presidents)
  • Having either strong technology/information management experience or process optimization (process mapping, standardization, RACI etc.)
  • Ability to either lead or contribute to client business case development and return on investment analysis
  • Passion for elevating our client performance and success
  • Ability to perform both domestic and international travel which should not exceed 30% -post-pandemic
