Last month I spoke about our 23rd industry survey and how we were in the midst of enrolling. At the time, I said that early indications were that this survey would be a big hit. I wasn’t wrong!
Already this is turning out to be the largest number of participants for any of our surveys. The most we’ve had in the past has been 37 and we’re already past 40 companies and still enrolling. Among the companies we’re waiting to hear back from are those we reached out to a bit later, and of those we believe there are at least six to eight that are likely to participate. From ProductLife Group’s roster of European clients and contacts, there have already been nine confirmed with several more likely to join the survey, and we’re anticipating more Japanese companies will take part. We certainly expect to surpass 45 participants, with the potential for this survey to reach 50 companies.
With so much interest, we’ve decided to take a two-pronged approach. We are committed to processing the results for the 40 companies that have already enrolled. At the same time, though we plan to keep the survey open for latecomers until around mid-October. This won’t affect our process, because we normally spend a couple of months debriefing companies before writing our white paper, which allows us to be a bit flexible.
The latest survey will be exciting on a number of counts. It will include a lot of the top 50 companies that normally participate in our surveys, but it will also include a number of growing smaller mid-tier companies for the first time. That’s significant as it will give us and the industry real insight into those fast growing biopharma companies. It’s also exciting because in addition to continuing to explore regulatory information management, this survey also goes into regulatory intelligence and looks deeply into innovation at software and service providers. So the survey will provide a good, all-round perspective whether you are a large, mid-tier, or small, growing company.
